MANILA, Philippines - A woman was charged yesterday for allegedly killing her lover following a fight inside their house in Quezon City.
Margie Jimenez, 42, was charged with homicide after she admitted she killed her partner, Randolf Lardizabal, 25, inside their home in Barangay Krus na Ligas.
Inspector Elmer Monsalve, head of the QCPD’s Homicide Investigation Section, said Lardizabal was found dead at around 6 a.m. Friday with several contusions on the head from a wooden plank found at the crime scene.
Monsalve said Jimenez sent a text message to Lardizabal’s brother on Friday morning, telling him to check on the victim. When the police arrived, she was no longer there, but Jimenez eventually came home and expressed sadness at her lover’s death.
Jimenez eventually broke down during questioning and admitted to accidentally killing her lover.
She said they had a heated argument earlier in the day, during which she lost her cool and went out of the house, where she found a wooden plank. She went back inside, hitting Lardizabal in anger until he fell.
Jimenez also alleged she was often beaten up by her lover and that she was fed up with the abuse.
