Suspected drug pusher slain in Pasig
MANILA, Philippines - A man suspected of being a drug pusher was shot dead by unidentified attackers in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City yesterday.
Miko Mankon, 27, of Barangay Maharlika Village in Taguig City, was declared dead on arrival at the Pasig City General Hospital.
Witnesses said Mankon was walking near the corner of Noah street and Centennial 2 Road when he was attacked at around 4 a.m. Residents rushed Mankon to the hospital.
A relative of Mankon, a certain Corporal Thing Angkanan of the Philippine Army, claimed he does not know anyone who has a grudge against the victim. However, witnesses claimed Mankon was known as a drug pusher in their neighborhood in Taguig and could have been in Pasig to deliver a package.
Investigators recovered a sachet of shabu, a bloodstained towel and other personal belongings of the victim at the crime scene.
