Lawman shoots colleague over blaring radio
MANILA, Philippines - A policeman has fled after he allegedly shot his colleague during a heated argument over a blaring radio in Quezon City on Friday.
According to Senior Police Officer 1 Eric Lazo, the incident happened at around noon in a makeshift barracks at a vacant lot along A. Bonifacio Avenue in Barangay Balintawak. The owner of the lot had allowed police officers to put up sleeping quarters.
Police Officer 3 Daniel Florendo Jr., who is assigned to Barangay Lourdes, was sleeping when PO3 Carlito Seneres, 50, turned on the radio and cranked up the volume. Florendo was roused from sleep and told Seneres, who is assigned to Barangay Balingasa, to get out of the barracks. Seneres allegedly took out his service firearm and shot his colleague in the right leg.
Lazo said Seneres brought Florendo to the Chinese General Hospital but has since disappeared.
