MANILA, Philippines - A 75-year-old retired government worker from San Andres, Manila has claimed his half of a P51-million jackpot, which he shared with another player from Paete, Laguna, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced yesterday.
Jose Ferdinand Rojas II, PCSO general manager, said the winners got the six-digit winning combination, 21-15-10-04-23-09.
The retiree, who has been a lotto fan for 17 years, based his bet on the birthdays of his wife and four children.
The retiree told Rojas that he has been dependent on his children after he lost his retirement pay to unforeseen expenses. He said he plans to share his winnings with his children and save the rest in the bank for his future needs.
