MANILA, Philippines - A businesswoman and her family were tied up and robbed of P10 million in cash, jewelry and gadgets by four men who entered their house in New Manila, Quezon City Saturday morning.
Chief Inspector Rodelio Marcelo, head of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, reported that two of the robbers threatened Marilou Knight’s secretary, Racquel Avisillas, and ordered her to accompany them to her 53-year-old employer’s room at around 10:15 a.m.
Once inside, the robbers tied the hands of Knight, her sons Adam and Jeremy, Avisillas, maid Maria Jamero and driver Donhill Aquino with tire wire and covered their faces with packaging tape.
Two more robbers then entered the room and stole the victims’ belongings. Police said a witness saw the robbers leave the crime scene in a red van parked in front of the gate of the house.
