MANILA, Philippines - Police on Thursday arrested three members of a robbery group preying on passenger jeepneys in Marikina City and neighboring cities.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel called on the other victims of the suspects identified as Frederick Naval, alias Bokyo, 32, Nepthalie de la Rosa, 38, and Jonathan Arguelles, 29, to surface and file charges against them.
Laurel said the trio yielded two handguns, a hand grenade and a fan knife.
“They appeared to be waiting for an opportunity to strike when cornered by the local police operatives,” said Superintendent Remus Medina, EPD intelligence chief.
According to Medina, an informant reported to Superintendent Earl Castillo, Marikina police deputy chief, that the group of Naval was out to rob passenger jeepneys plying the Parang-Cubao route.
