- Jerry Botial - The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines - The Caloocan City police warned the public yesterday of the resurgence of fake peso bills being circulated by counterfeiting syndicates after two men were arrested for paying with fake currency at a cockfighting area Sunday.

City police chief Senior Superintendent Jude Wilson Santos said 13 fake P1,000 bills were seized from Joel Pastolero, 41; and Fabian Martinez, 44.

Police Officer 2 Mark Andrew Bartolome reported that the suspects were arrested after paying the entrance fee at the Caybiga cockfighting area with a fake P1,000 bill.
