5 boys stab fish trader in Malabon
MANILA, Philippines - Police have yet to identify yesterday five boys who stabbed a fish trader during a robbery in Malabon City Thursday night.
Roneto Ponce, a resident of Barangay Panghulo in Malabon, is still undergoing treatment for stab wounds in the abdomen and back at the Tondo Medical Center.
Police Officer 1 Benjamin Sy Jr. said Ponce and three other fish traders – Marilou Medina, Elizabeth Salvador and Imelda Medina – were in a tricycle on their way to the Malabon fish market when at least five boys blocked their path along a dimly lit portion of Dr. Lascano street in Barangay Tugatog at around 10:50 p.m.
Ponce tried to fight them off, but the boys stabbed him then grabbed Salvador’s bag.
The victims told police that the robbers were just minors but appeared to be ferocious and willing to kill.
