MANILA, Philippines - A 62-year-old man was injured after a fire traced to an overheated electric fan gutted his three-story house yesterday in Malabon City.
Fire Officer 3 Manuel Gabriel said Jose Seebok suffered first degree burns and was taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Arson officials said the fire broke out at the second floor of the house at 4 a.m. while Seebok was asleep.
Firefighters took at least two hours to contain the blaze. Damage to property was placed at P800,000.
