Caloocan sets info drive on rainfall warning system

- The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines -  Caloocan City Mayor Enrico Echiverri ordered yesterday an intensified information campaign on the new rainfall warning system being implemented by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Echiverri issued the order based on a memorandum by the Department of the Interior and Local Government National Capital Region (NCR) after PAGASA revised an earlier color code plan it introduced to the public.

PAGASA’s three-level warning system – from yellow to orange to red – would alert residents to flood and other hazards brought about by rainfall.

Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas president, Councilor Ricojudge Echiverri, has also directed barangay officials nationwide to promote the new warning system among residents. – Jerry Botial, Pete Laude
