5 Taiwanese face raps for shabu lab

- Non Alquitran - The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines -  Five Taiwanese who were arrested during Sunday’s raid on a shabu laboratory in Parañaque City have been charged with the illegal possession and manufacture of illegal drugs, an official said yesterday.

Chief Inspector Roque Merdegia Jr., Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Force (AIDSOTF) legal officer, said the charges filed against Cheng Yu Teng, Tsai Horng, Huang Yung Chun, Hsu Yun Pong and Yu Kun Lin with the city prosecutor’s office are non-bailable.

AIDSOTF members confiscated 25 kilos of high-grade shabu, with a street value of P150 million, during the raid on a compound along Santisima Trinidad street in San Antonio Valley 12.

Merdegia said they are still trying to determine which drug syndicate the suspects belong. The suspects denied knowledge of the shabu laboratory, insisting that their business is buying bonsai plants for export to Taiwan.
