MANILA, Philippines - A fish vendor died after a man attacked him with a bolo in Caloocan City at past midnight yesterday.
Senior Police Officer 3 Mario Solangon Jr. said Roberto David’s neck was nearly severed from his body. The 43-year-old victim, who bore hack wounds on the head and arms, was declared dead on arrival at the Manila Central University Hospital.
Solangon said cell phone technician Cezar Ornopia, 32, surrendered himself and the 20-inch bolo he used to kill David.
Police said the two men were already feuding but the conflict came to a head when David allegedly purposely bumped Ornopia when they met on Malolos Avenue in Barangay 144 at around 12:30 a.m. When David returned the same way, Ornopia attacked him.
Ornopia was charged with murder, a non-bailable offense.
