MANILA, Philippines - A 17-year-old Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) chairman was stabbed dead while his two companions were hurt while they were patrolling in Makati City at past midnight yesterday.
Barangay Valenzuela SK chairman Jason Patrick Infante died of three stab wounds while councilman Eric Araneta was beaten.
Michael Mate, a member of the city’s rescue unit who was also with Infante, remains in critical condition after sustaining a stab wound, said acting city police chief Superintendent Jaime Santos.
Santos said the three were doing their rounds when they encountered John Paul Comora, 21; and Katrina Escover, 24, near a store.
“My theory is that they were accosted because of the curfew,” Santos said over the phone.
Comora, reportedly facing a murder case in Manila, allegedly stabbed the victims, Santos said. He added that he has yet to find out how Escover participated in the attack. Escover initially introduced herself as Comora’s girlfriend.
