MANILA, Philippines - In response to the needs of flood victims in evacuation centers, SM City Novaliches, in coordination with SM Foundation, put together truckloads of groceries for thousands of families who needed food and relief goods. There are about 86,000 families in Barangay Gulod in Novaliches, Quezon City. According to the officials, the area is nearly 80 percent under water.
In addition to Operation Tulong Express, SM Super Malls president Annie Garcia said “SM malls are open wherever possible for our customers looking for basic necessities or simply seeking alternative venues from home away from rain and floods.”
Garcia also added that all SM Super Malls, wherever possible, will have drop-off points for donations of relief goods. All these efforts are part of the SM Cares program of SM Super Malls.
