Fleeing snatcher killed by speeding bus

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged robber died when he was hit by a speeding bus as he and his companions were running away after snatching a woman’s earrings in Cubao, Quezon City Wednesday afternoon.

Joshua Ang, in his early 20s, was identified by his companions, Luis Gello Cruz and Joshua Mendoza, who were caught.

Senior Inspector Erlito Renegin said the suspects scaled the fence in the middle of EDSA near the Farmer’s Market when the bus – it was unclear whether it was a Joyselle or Cher unit – hit Ang.

Members of the Quezon City Police District’s Special Weapons and Tactics unit noticed the commotion and arrested Ang’s companions.
