MANILA, Philippines - Two unidentified robbers were killed yesterday in an alleged shootout with policemen in San Juan City.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel said the robbers were cornered in a repair shop along Don Emilio Ejercito street in Barangay Tibagan at about 3:30 a.m.
Laurel said the robbers, instead of surrendering, shot at the policemen who responded to a telephone call of stay-in worker Cloyd Suarez, 30.
Suarez reported seeing two men armed with a handgun and a fan knife in the shop.
One robber was described as between 20 and 23 years old; 5’2” tall; clad in a black shirt, denim shorts and blue sandals; and bearing a tribal tattoo on his left arm.
The second robber was described to be between 18 and 20 years old; 5’4” tall; clad in a red shirt and shorts; and with an “Ina Ko” tattoo on his left arm.
Crime scene investigators recovered a .38 caliber revolver with five bullets and a fan knife near the bodies of the two robbers.
