Classes in Malabon, Valenzuela suspended

- Jerry Botial - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The local governments of Malabon and Valenzuela yesterday suspended classes in both public and private schools due to heavy rains brought by typhoon “Ferdie” and worsened by high tide.

Acting Malabon Mayor Antolin “Lenlen” Oreta said several villages in Malabon were flooded, prompting them to suspend classes.

In Valenzuela, Mayor Sherwin Gatchalian said 13 of the city’s barangays were inundated.

City information chief Ahna Mejia said a dike in Arkong Bato was breached due to massive flooding.
