Blaze destroys plastics warehouse

- The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines - A fire of still undetermined origin raged for almost nine hours and gutted a plastics company’s warehouse in Valenzuela City early yesterday morning.

City fire marshal Supt. Mel Jose Lagan identified the establishment as TAT Industrial Corp. at Yama Compound on Hermosa street in Barangay Dalandanan. Lagan said there were no reported casualties or injuries in the blaze. He initially placed damage at P10 million.

FO1 Julius Vasquez said the fire broke out at around 2:05 a.m. and was officially declared out at 10:50 a.m. yesterday.

Fire investigation chief Inspector Valerio Binayug said they encountered difficulty in putting out the fire because they had to use special chemicals to put out the flames that destroyed the resins and raw materials used to make various plastic products. – Jerry Botial, Pete Laude
