Manila, Philippines - A butcher stabbed dead his own supervisor at a hog dealer’s shop in Caloocan City yesterday after a heated argument over pig intestines, which are usually grilled and turned into a popular street food called isaw.
Police said Ciriaco Herrera, 60, supervisor of hog dealer Gilbert Legaspi, suffered several stab wounds in the body and died at the Pagamutang Bayan ng Malabon.
Ranulfo Capintog, 42, of Tioco street, Barangay 91, Tondo, Manila, went into hiding after the incident.
Police said slaughterhouse driver Jun Yap saw Herrera and Capintog arguing at the abbatoir’s gate after the victim accosted Capintog, who was holding two kilos of pig intestines.
The suspect apparently resented his supervisor’s questioning and a heated argument broke out. Capintog left, returned with a butcher’s knife and stabbed Herrera several times.
Police officers have filed murder charges against Capintog.
