MANILA, Philippines - Around 20 houses were destroyed by a fire that broke out in Barangay Apolonio Samson, Quezon City Monday night.
The flames started at the house of Evelyn Lagunsad at past 6 p.m., according to a report from the Quezon City Fire District.
Residents told arson investigators that an explosion, which they believe was that of a liquefied petroleum tank, was heard from Lagunsad’s house.
Francisco Lagunsad and Natividad Bunane suffered third-degree burns on their bodies.
The fire destroyed four classrooms and the library of the Apolonio Samson Elementary School, which suspended classes yesterday.
The fire destroyed P3 million worth of property before it was put out at around 7 p.m.
