Guard kills self in Ducati showroom

MANILA, Philippines - A security guard shot himself yesterday in the restroom of a Makati City showroom for upscale motorcycle brand Ducati.

Nazareth Bolongita, 46, of the Triad Security and Allied Services Inc., was about to be relieved at his post by Nestor Obillo, 47, when the victim went to the restroom, according to acting city police chief Superintendent Jaime Santos.

Seconds later, Obillo heard a gunshot from the restroom at around 6:30 a.m. He rushed inside and found Bolongita dead on the floor, with a gunshot wound in the head. Police said the victim used his .38 caliber service revolver.

Investigators said Bolongita left no suicide note in the showroom, located at the corner of Osmeña Highway and Lucban street in Barangay Palanan.
