MANILA, Philippines - A 45-year-old German national was found dead inside his condominium unit in Mandaluyong City on Tuesday night.
Eastern Police District (EPD) director Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel ordered an investigation into the death of Sylvio Muller to determine whether there was foul play.
Laurel directed the Mandaluyong police to relay to the German embassy the results of their investigation.
Muller was found dead by his friends, Michael Seker and Paul Schafer, inside his rented condo at Unit 2-C Gateway Garden Ridge, EDSA, Barangay Ilaya.
Chief Inspector Carlito Canlas, head of Mandaluyong police Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU), said the German was discovered lifeless and sprawled on the floor with several bottles of liquor beside him.
Initial investigation showed that Muller bore no signs of injuries.
Seker and Schafer told police they decided to check on Muller after he failed to answer their calls and text messages.
They claimed that Muller had a history of drunkenness.
