MANILA, Philippines – A helper was hurt when two trucks collided at the intersection of United Nations and Quirino Avenues in Paco, Manila Friday night.
According to a report by Senior Police Officer 1 Rommel del Rosario, a trailer truck transporting soft drinks, driven by Danny Dayday, was hit by another trailer truck driven by James Calimutan at around 11:30 p.m. Friday. The impact caused soft drink bottles to be thrown from the truck.
Calimutan’s helper, Bert Malodrigo, 32, was rushed to the Philippine General Hospital.
Barangay kagawad Elmer Mesa told traffic investigators, Calimutan beat the red light then lost control of the truck.
