FPIC cleans up Osmeña Highway service road

- Mike Frialde -

MANILA, Philippines - First Philippine Industrial Corp., operator of the 117-kilometer pipeline that leaked oil in Barangay Bangkal in Makati City, has cleaned up the service road along Osmeña Highway in time for Monday’s school opening.

Barangay Bangkal has four public elementary schools and a public high school.

In a statement, the FPIC said the clean-up drive aims to help the city government in its preparations for the new school year and to help stop the possible spread of water borne diseases, especially dengue, which is prevalent during the rainy season.

The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) earlier said it would reopen the Osmeña service road to help ease traffic in the area.
