MANILA, Philippines - A former United States Marine was shot dead by five men in Caloocan City at past midnight yesterday.
Police Officer 2 Rommel Bautista said Richard Myers, between 30 and 40 years old, was staying with Filipino friends at the time of the attack.
According to witnesses, they heard knocks on Myers’ door. When he opened it, they heard the victim engaging in a shouting match, after which they heard a gunshot at around 1 a.m.
Police said arrangements have been made with US embassy personnel.
