9 hurt in Quiapo restaurant blast
Manila, Philippines - At least nine people were wounded when a fragmentation grenade exploded in a restaurant in Quiapo, Manila Wednesday night.
Investigators are still verifying information that some of the customers got into a fight at the Sun Beam Restaurant on Quezon Boulevard, and one of them threw an MK2 fragmentation grenade at around 11 p.m., the Manila Police District (MPD) said.
Reynaldo Lupejo, 22; Racilbo Bololgon, 19; and Clarisa Paraiso, 15, were treated at the Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
Waitresses Ashley Salas, 20, and Gina Bautista, 38, were treated at the Ospital ng Maynila while four others – waitress Floren Marina, 28; Jovena Biñan, 31; Alchi Biñan, 49; and Merla Mosilla, 26 – were brought to the United Doctors Medical Center.
Investigators said they have not identified any suspect in the incident.
