Manila, Philippines - Several roads in the metropolis will be closed for three days, starting today, due to some events and road repairs that will be done over the weekend, authorities said yesterday.
In a statement, the Department of Public Works and Highways said the road repair will start at 10 p.m. tonight and end at 4 a.m. Monday.
The repairs will be done along various sections of EDSA, from Mandaluyong to Quezon City; Fairview Avenue; A. Bonifacio Avenue; Araneta Avenue; A.H. Lacson street and Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard.
According to the Manila District Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Manila Police District, Leon Guinto street from Estrada to P. Ocampo streets will be closed from 3 a.m. today until midnight for the Frosh Solidarity Night of the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
Tomorrow, several roads will be closed starting at 5 a.m. for the Iglesia ni Cristo Unity Game: Roxas Boulevard’s southbound lane, from Katigbak Drive to P. Ocampo streets; Adriatico street, from Quirino Avenue to P. Ocampo street; Quirino Avenue’s eastbound lane, from Roxas Boulevard to Adriatico street; Roxas Boulevard’s northbound lane, from P. Ocampo street to Quirino Avenue; Roxas Boulevard’s service road; A. Mabini street from P. Ocampo to Quirino Avenue.
On May 20, Roxas Boulevard’s southbound lane, from T.M. Kalaw to P. Ocampo streets, will be closed starting at 4:30 a.m. for the Philippine Road Racing Grand Prix. – Evelyn Macairan, Sandy Araneta
