Couple slain in Marikina

MANILA, Philippines - A man and his partner were shot dead while they were on their way home after attending a fiesta in Marikina City Sunday.

Graciano Carino, 40, and Monica Garcia, resident of Pasig City, died on the spot from gunshot wounds in the head.

According to reports, the couple spent most of Sunday at the house of a close friend in Barangay Malanday, which was celebrating its feastday.

They were about to board their motorcycle at the corner of Reposo street and Kabayani Road 5 when a man approached and shot them at around 5:15 p.m.

Investigators are checking the background of the victims to determine the motive for their killing.
