Guard kills priest's driver in front of Sta. Ana church

MANILA, Philippines - A guard shot dead a driver of Monsignor Roberto Espenilla in front of the Sagrada Familia church in Sta. Ana, Manila yesterday morning.

Police Officer 3 Jupiter Tajonera said Dante Castelo, who relieved one of the regular guards at the church, had an altercation with victim Wilfredo Servando prior to the incident.

Tajonera said Servando reportedly told Castelo that he did not want to see him around the church anymore, which earned the ire of the latter.

Castelo reportedly confronted the victim within earshot of Espenilla, and a few seconds later gunshots were heard. The guard fled after the incident.

Servando succumbed to two gunshot wounds in the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival at the San Juan De Dios Hospital.
