MANILA, Philippines - Police investigators are eyeing robbery as the motive behind the attack that killed three security guards of Banco Filipino owner Bobby Aguirre in Las Piñas City last April 7.
“As of now, the robbery angle is being pursued by our investigators,” said a police official who requested anonymity.
The police official told The Star that the suspects were out to rob Aguirre, “who had a large amount of cash in his house at that time.”
The source said four of the 10 suspects are members of a notorious robbery syndicate.
At least four police teams are now hot on the trail of the suspects in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.
“We are closing in on the suspects. Just give my men enough time and we will collar some of them,” said National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Director Alan Purisima.
