Caloocan hospital offers free services to residents
MANILA, Philippines - The Caloocan City government announced yesterday that the President Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Medical Center is offering certain medical services for free.
Mayor Enrico Echiverri said residents could avail themselves of free breast and prostate screening, pap smear, bone screening, x-ray, ECG, cholesterol test, tooth extraction, minor cysts operation, and circumcision.
Echiverri said since the free clinic was launched Feb. 15, at least 415 patients have already been serviced.
The free circumcision will start today, with at least 100 boys 10 years old and above having been screened and prepared for the procedure.
The screening will be done for four Thursdays and the circumcision the next day.
Another health program, Operation Restore Hope, designed for harelip residents, will be from April 16 to 20 with the assistance of foreign medical experts, Echiverri said.
