MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City government is providing additional facilities that will help provide better education for children with special needs.

With the approval of Resolution 5445 – principally authored by Councilors Julienne Alyson Rae Medalla and Alfred Vargas – the city government will soon provide Braille facilities and similar services in city-owned libraries and selected public schools offering special education to assist children with special needs, especially the visually impaired, in their research and information needs.

Quezon City has almost 30,000 residents with disabilities. Of the total, 18 percent are said to be visually impaired.
