Manila Cathedral open for Visita Iglesia

- Evelyn Macairan -

MANILA, Philippines - Church officials said devotees could still visit the Manila Cathedral in Intramuros for their Visita Iglesia.

The 54-year-old cathedral was closed for structural repairs last Feb. 7. Almost all church-related activities have been transferred to the San Fernando de Dilao Parish or the Paco Church in Paco.

Manila Cathedral rector Monsignor Nestor Cerbo yesterday said they would still observe the 14 Stations of the Cross intended for the Visita Iglesia. He said they would put up a cross in front of the cathedral.

The 14 Stations of the Cross will be placed at the Bell Garden. It would be installed at 1 p.m. today until the afternoon of Black Saturday.
