Would-be pol shot dead in Pasig

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman who ran for barangay chairman but lost in the last local election was shot dead by a motorcycle-riding man in Pasig City yesterday.

Rogelio Silva, 58, had just left his house in Barangay Palatiw in a Toyota Fortuner when he was attacked at around 1 p.m.

Police said they have yet to determine whether the attack was politically motivated.
