Businessman slain in Valenzuela

MANILA, Philippines - A businessman was gunned down in front of his house by at least two men riding a motorcycle in Barangay Balubaran,Valenzuela City yesterday morning.

Ruel Vitan, 32, suffered eight gunshot wounds in the body from a .45 caliber pistol. Neighbors said Vitan ran a funeral parlor and traded in used cars.

Police said one of the attackers knocked on the gate of Vitan’s house at around 7:30 a.m. Witnesses said Vitan asked the men what they wanted, but one of the men shot him in response. He was declared dead on arrival at the Our Lady of Fatima Medical Center.
