Dismantling of Quezon City rotunda sought
MANILA, Philippines - Quezon City Rep. Winston Castelo pushed yesterday for the immediate dismantling of the rotunda at the intersection of Mindanao and Quirino Avenues saying it has been causing daily traffic jams since its construction several months ago.
The administration lawmaker suggested the installation of U- turn slots and the deployment of traffic enforcers at the intersection.
Castelo said he is not aware of any study or consultation with affected sectors on the construction of the rotunda.
He said has been receiving complaints from his constituents, who have been affected by heavy traffic in the area.
Castelo urged the National Government, through the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Metro Manila Development Authority, to dismantle the rotunda at the soonest time possible and hold consultations with concerned sectors.
