MANILA, Philippines - An Indian businesswoman lost money and valuables to thieves who took her bag at a restaurant in Sampaloc, Manila yesterday afternoon.
Police said Sweata Rungta, 37, met with businesswoman Arlad Crusate at Dangwa to discuss the business of supplying flowers to overseas Filipino workers.
The two women went to a fastfood restaurant with some companions. The victim’s bag was on the table. Rungta and Crusate stood up to talk to their companions, who were seated at another table.
When they returned, Rungta’s bag was missing. She lost her passport, BlackBerry, iPad 2 tablet, digital camera, identification and credit cards, and $300, 200 euros, and 10,000 rupees.
