Ramona now on Interpol's wanted list
MANILA, Philippines - Ramona Bautista, one of the suspects in the murder of her brother, actor Ram Revilla (real name Ramgen Bautista), has been placed on the wanted list of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed yesterday.
In a text message to The STAR, NBI foreign liaison division chief Claro de Castro Jr. said the NBI requested last Feb. 1 that Bautista be included in the Interpol’s wanted list after a lower court issued a warrant of arrest against her.
De Castro said one of the requirements for inclusion in the Interpol list is that a court has to issue a warrant of arrest first.
Bautista’s name, picture and other information about her was published on the Interpol website for wanted persons on Feb. 10, De Castro said.
Bautista, 23, fled to Turkey and remains at large after recanting her statement about being abducted by the man who shot and stabbed Ramgen.
Another sibling, Ramon Joseph, has since been arrested by the Parañaque police and pleaded not guilty to the charges, along with suspects Ryan Pastera, Glaiza Vista and Norwin de la Cruz.
Pastera, Vista and De la Cruz were supposedly hired by the Bautista siblings to help execute the plan to kill Ramgen in their Parañaque home on Oct. 28, 2011.
