MANILA, Philippines - Barely two days after allegedly robbing and shooting an ABS-CBN employee, a suspected robber and his companion were arrested in Barangay Masambong, Quezon City Monday while apparently waiting for another victim.
Despite changing the color of his hair from yellow to black, Christian Paul Gonzales was identified by technical director Crisologo Pangan as the one who robbed and shot him along Panay Avenue in Quezon City Saturday. Gonzales was arrested along with David Briones.
The robbery was caught by a surveillance camera and a witness described one of the robbers as having “golden” hair.
Quezon City Police District Station 10 chief Superintendent Crisostomo Mendoza said while the suspects managed to take Pangan’s laptop bag, the bag only contained three cell phones.
“At most, they probably ended up earning P2,000 for those three phones,” Mendoza said. “It was definitely a losing operation so they had to strike again.”
