10 hurt as buses collide in Caloocan

MANILA, Philippines - At least 10 passengers were injured when a passenger bus collided with a tour bus carrying local tourists in Caloocan City Sunday afternoon.

Police Officer 3 Cesar Madlangsakay said the Joanna Jesh passenger bus (TYF-825) driven by Erwin Lucban was cruising along B. Serrano street en route to EDSA when it hit the Princess Maya Travel and Tour bus (TYH-310) driven by Romulo Tevar at around 4:30 p.m.

Helen de la Peña, 53; Jean Suplido, 20; Benjamin Callado, 87; Andrea Sinayan, 10; Thelma Cruz, 62; Aries Yebes, 28; Jane Valdez, 17; Christian Pengon, 15; Edna Canoy, 35; and Rodel Regalario suffered scratches and bruises on the head and body.

The drivers of both buses were detained at the Caloocan City police detention cell pending further investigation of the incident, Madlangsakay said.
