MANILA, Philippines - A Manila regional trial court has issued two warrants for the main suspect in the explosion that marred the conclusion of the Bar exams at the De La Salle University (DLSU) in 2010.
Judge Jaime Santiago, in warrants released Feb. 3, sought the arrest of Anthony Leal Nepomuceno for violating provisions of Republic Act 9516 on the illegal possession of explosives and for multiple frustrated murder and multiple attempted murder. He recommended no bail for the first charge, and set P200,000 as bail for the second charge.
Nepomuceno’s listed addresses are in Marikina and Marinduque.
More than 30 people were hurt in the explosion, including law student Raissa Laurel. Police later found that a fragmentation grenade was used in the blast, which occurred just as the Bar examinees were leaving the DLSU compound at around 5 p.m. on Sept. 26, 2010.
