Guard shot dead by neighbor

MANILA, Philippines - A security guard was gunned down in front of his house in Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City yesterday morning by his neighbor, who accused him of informing authorities about his reported crimes.

Joey Denlos, 26, and his wife were about to leave their house to visit a relative when Nelson Larumbaba, who was waiting for them, shot the victim in the head at around 10:40 a.m., according to Police Officer 2 Rommel Mayo.

According to the Quezon City Police District Station 6, Larumbaba is known to them as an alleged member of a group of robbers and shoplifters and had been arrested before on drug charges.

Larumbaba fled after the attack.
