MANILA, Philippines - Malabon City officials yesterday announced the launching of an anti-littering campaign as provided under a recently approved city ordinance, which aims to reduce the volume and ensure the proper disposal of garbage.

Under the ordinance, individual offenders will be fined from P500 to P1,500 and corporate offenders from P3,000 to P5,000. They will also be asked to render community service and attend seminars. Third-time offenders face imprisonment of five to 30 days.
