Magsaysay Blvd. closed to traffic for 'Bourne' shoot

- Mike Frialde -

MANILA, Philippines - The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will shut down the usually busy Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard in Sta. Mesa, Manila today, tomorrow and next Saturday for the shooting of the upcoming spy thriller “Bourne Legacy.”

In its tweet (http://twitter.com/MMDA), the MMDA yesterday said Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard will be closed to traffic effective “1 a.m. onwards” on Feb. 4, 5, and 11.

“Expect heavy traffic,” the MMDA advised motorists in its tweet.

Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard is a major artery and connects Quezon City with Manila’s University Belt area.

The MMDA is advising motorists to veer away from the location shooting and take alternate routes. The MMDA added that it would be allowing vehicles to counter-flow along the boulevard’s eastbound lane.

The MMDA has advised eastbound motorists coming from Legarda, Nagtahan or JP Laurel streets to go straight to A.H. Lacson street (formerly Governor Forbes); take a right to G. Tuazon street; or take A.H. Lacson street then turn right at España Boulevard to their destinations.

Westbound motorists coming from San Juan, Cubao and Mandaluyong are advised to take Old Sta. Mesa, turn left at Valenzuela street, right at the Paco/Sta. Mesa Road, right on President Quirino Avenue to their destinations.
