Sausage firm to abide by LLDA ruling

-

MANILA, Philippines - A firm whose wastewater facility was ordered shut down by the Laguna Lake Development Authority Friday said yesterday it will follow the LLDA’s decision on the issue.

The LLDA found that the King Sue Ham and Sausage Co. Inc. was discharging pollutants and told the firm to undertake the necessary corrections to ensure that its wastewater is treated before being released into the environment and to close the bypass and drainage in the dishwashing area.

In a statement, King Sue’s Richard King said the firm “continuously abides” by the government’s rules and regulations, and regularly submits reports to the LLDA.

King said they have ensured that their water treatment facilities comply with the specifications of the Clean Water Act. “We stand ready to coordinate with the LLDA to work towards accomplishing their recommendations,” he said. King also said that they use clean and safe water for their products.
