MANILA, Philippines - An executive of a trucking firm fell for the wiles of a woman who offered him sex as he was walking at the Bonifacio Monument Circle in Caloocan City, but lost some P50,000 and important business documents instead, police said yesterday.
Ronald Ajero, 40, of RCB Trucking told police he lost P30,000, a cell phone worth P20,000 and important documents including an authorization to pull out container vans at the office.
He said the incident happened Friday night in front of the old and unoccupied Ever Gotesco mall in Monumento. He said he was walking to get a ride to his home in Novaliches, Quezon City when he was met by a woman who introduced herself as “Avie” and offered him sex.
He agreed to walk her to a nearby motel just behind the mall. As they walked into an alley, two unidentified men appeared and robbed him at gunpoint.
Regular commuters passing through the Bonifacio Monument area have repeatedly complained about rampant snatchings and robberies, which they said appear to be on the rise. They said police officers are not visible in the area, particularly late at night, when most criminals operate.
