Money transfer outlet loses P6 million to robbers

MANILA, Philippines - A money transfer outlet lost nearly P6 million in cash after five unidentified gunmen robbed its teller at gunpoint on Tuesday.

Cielo Torsiede, 48, told police that the heist was pulled on Gilbert Gutierrez, 33, at 711 Hilton street corner Quirino Highway in Barangay 184 in Caloocan City.

Investigation showed that the suspects disarmed the security guard, Joselito Bingco, while Gutierrez was about to open the outlet at around 7 a.m. 

The robbers took P5,336,943 in cash, $6,921 and Bingco’s firearm and cellular phone.
