'Bourne' shoot to use 15,000 extras
MANILA, Philippines - The latest Jason Bourne film is projected to employ at least 15,000 Filipino extras by the time its producers wrap up its 45-day shooting in the Philippines, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) director Emerson Carlos said yesterday.
The film’s local producer, Jun Juban, confirmed the figure, adding that “it might be more than that,” depending on the location. It was earlier reported that 40 percent of the film would be shot in the Philippines.
Yesterday, they were expected to continue to shoot scenes in the Leveriza street area. Some of the scenes would be done in Intramuros, Jones Bridge, Ramon Magsaysay Boulevard in Sta. Mesa, Ayala Avenue in Makati City, Marikina Public Market and the Navotas City Fish Port.
It was earlier reported that some of the scenes might be done in Palawan.
On Jan. 18 and 19, the cast and crew of “The Bourne Legacy” will transfer to the Remedios Circle. Barangay 707 Zone 77 chairwoman Celia Nepomuceno said residents and establishments have complained about two trucks full of equipment already parked in the area, which she said have caused parking problems. – Mike Frialde, Evelyn Macairan
