MANILA, Philippines - A man accused of sending obscene text messages and extorting money from the sister of actor Piolo Pascual was arrested in an entrapment operation in Parañaque City Tuesday night.
Juan Paolo Carreon, 28, allegedly started to text Pascual’s sister Pamela Shoaf last Dec. 16.
“He is demanding sex and money from the victim,” said Chief Inspector Raymund Liguden, head of the arresting team.
He said Shoaf and husband Alvin sought assistance from the police because the suspect is asking for P50,000 and demanding that they meet somewhere along Sucat Road. Liguden said Carreon got Shoaf’s number through his wife Melanie, who is Alvin’s former secretary.
Carreon has been detained at the Southern Police District and will be charged with robbery with intimidation, and unjust vexation.
Liguden said the suspect will also be charged with disobedience, resisting arrest and illegal drug possession for the shabu allegedly found in his pocket.
