MANILA, Philippines - A 15-year-old fifth grader killed his elder brother during the New Year revelry in Tondo, Manila.
The boy was accompanied by his father to the Manila Police District’s homicide section yesterday.
The elder brother had beaten up the boy after the latter used their father’s motorcycle without permission. In retaliation, the boy pulled out a 10-inch fan knife and stabbed his brother in the chest. Neighbors rushed the victim to the Mary Johnston Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
The boy admitted mixing Valium (generic name diazepam, a tranquilizer) and a local brandy prior to the incident. He denied having a grudge against his brother.
Police said homicide charges will be filed against the boy.
